We expect our Club Members to abide by our Club Policies
At Kedron Lions Juniors, the safety, wellbeing and enjoyment of every player, volunteer and family is at the heart of everything we do.
Our club policies are designed to provide clear guidance and expectations across all areas of our operations — from player supervision and behaviour, to safety protocols, communication, and more.
We encourage all members of the Kedron Lions community to familiarise themselves with these policies to help us maintain a positive, inclusive and respectful environment for everyone involved in our club.
The Kedron Districts Junior Football Clubs purpose is to nurture the skills and confidence of our players to build a thriving club community. We will continue a proud history as a family friendly, all-inclusive club that adds significantly to Brisbane’s Northern suburbs.
The Kedron Districts Junior Football Club will be known as a values driven community hub. A community hub that is a public space, that brings people together to live our values expressed through our expectations, actions and interactions every day.
Our Values are the principles and standards that represent our clubs’ beliefs, trust, faith and confidence in our vision and purpose. Our behaviours are the way in which one acts or conducts oneself – especially towards others.
The Kedron Districts Junior Football Club aims to promote, cultivate and foster the game of Australian Rules Football to people aged 17 years or under within the district of Kedron and its surrounding suburbs. We also aim to educate, train, coach and encourage members of the Club in all aspects of life, not just specifically football. We cannot do this without the cooperation and support from that child’s family.
To ensure such cooperation and support, our Code of Conduct outlines the Club’s expectations for a player’s parents, step-parents, guardians, grandparents, extended family members, family friends and carers (collectively, parents).
In developing this Code, the Club recognises that Parents ultimately want the best for their children. However, the Club also expects Parents to recognise that it must ultimately balance the interests of all of the Club’s stakeholders (including not only players and Parents, but also the Club’s volunteers and their right to a safe working environment).
This Code does not attempt to provide a detailed and exhaustive list of what to do in every aspect of a parent’s interactions with the Club and the Club community. Instead, it sets out general expectations. As such, this Code is intended to be practical, non-adversarial and non-legal.
At the Kedron Districts Junior Football Club, the safety and wellbeing of our youngest players is really important to us.
To help ensure everyone arrives and leaves training safely, we ask that all players aged 6 to 11 are accompanied by a parent, guardian, or trusted adult when coming to and from training and games.
This means we ask families not to allow children in this age group to travel alone (such as riding bikes or walking without supervision), even if they live nearby. Having an adult present helps us make sure every child is safe, supported and accounted for — especially if there’s a change in plans, weather, or if someone is delayed.
We know life is busy, so if you ever need help arranging supervision, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your team manager or coach — we’re here to support each other as a club community.

The Kedron Districts Junior Football Club overwhelmingly encourages players to play in their age group. We believe AFL Queensland’s strategy of aligning player age cutoffs with school age cutoffs produces good long term participation outcomes for players.
Players wishing to play up one age group are required to complete a “Kedron JAFC Playing Up Application” form. (e.g. eligible to play Under 9 but wishes to play Under 10 or higher). This form must be completed and returned to the Club Secretary prior to the player playing their first match for the age group.
The Kedron JAFC Committee will consider this application in line with the “Kedron JAFC Playing up Policy”.
