At the Kedron Lions Juniors, football is just the beginning.
While we love the game and everything it brings — teamwork, competition, and skill development — what truly defines us as a club is the way we show up for each other. Our purpose is to nurture confident, capable young people while building a strong, inclusive community across Brisbane’s northern suburbs.
That’s where our values come in.
They aren’t just words on a page. They shape how we coach, how our players compete, how families support from the sidelines, and how we connect as a club.
A Club Built on Purpose and Community
Kedron Lions has a proud history as a family-friendly and welcoming club. We are committed to continuing that tradition by creating an environment where every child feels they belong — regardless of ability, background, or experience.
Our vision is to be known as a values-driven community hub — a place where people come together, build friendships, and feel proud to be part of something bigger than themselves.
Our Four Core Values
TEAMWORK
- Be selfless
- Include everyone
- Support and encourage others
RESPECT
- Respect your team
- Respect your club
- Respect your community
EFFORT
- Always do your best
- Lead by example
- Listen, learn, and improve
FUN
- Enjoy your footy
- Celebrate each other
- Laugh and praise effort
How Our Values Come to Life
These values aren’t just talked about — they are actively recognised and reinforced.
Each week, every junior team awards a Values Achievement Award to one player who has demonstrated one of our core values. This might be:
- Encouraging a teammate
- Showing great sportsmanship
- Giving their all in a tough game
- Bringing energy and positivity to the group
Importantly, this award isn’t about being the “best” player — it’s about recognising the behaviours that make our club strong.
A Shared Responsibility
Creating a values-driven club takes everyone.
Our coaches lead with positivity and focus on development. Our players bring effort and energy. And our families play a crucial role by modelling respect, encouragement, and support from the sidelines.
When everyone is aligned, something special happens — players grow in confidence, teams become more connected, and the club becomes a place people truly want to be.
Building More than Footballers
At Kedron Lions, we’re proud to be developing more than just football skills.
We’re helping young people learn how to work as a team, treat others with respect, show resilience, and enjoy the journey. These are lessons that extend far beyond the field.
Because at the end of the day, our success isn’t just measured in wins — it’s measured in the strong, connected community that makes Kedron different.
